Was in for a service on Friday
Dealer looked at the 330S alloys and put in a claim for 4 new ones to I.M
However, the mechanic that worked on my car showed me something else with the tyres, so they're putting in a claim for 4 new tyres also.

The Dunlop's are beginning to crack very badly.
He said he discovered another and changed a set of Dunlops like this around 2 weeks ago, although they were 17", not 18"

Recaro seat base also ordered up under warranty

Good to hear all that Very Happy

Worth naming a garage that does what its supposed to, as all we tend to hear is ones that don't !

We'll they've just rang me, and good news is that they have 4 new 330S alloys for me.
They have organised Dunlop/Goodyear to inspect the tyres for replacement, and are awaiting on a delivery date from IM for the Recaro seat base.

I have rung several dealers asking if they had any warranty rims and they said thay have to keep them 3 months then they can sell them - Typical price £200 +VAT per set. Very Happy
Decided they were too heavy and got some Rotas !

I thought that was reasonable - means after re-powdercoating you get "new" rims for under £500 Smile

It is when you put into perspective they are to be scrapped so technically cost nothing lol.

Laughing
I suppose every business has to make a profit - even Subaru !!

By the way Rob, I happen to have a slightly later than my original v1.2 sat-nav disc (but only that disc out of the "set"). I tried it, and it "works" but still shows the phantom roundabouts from years ago that my v1.2 does, but does show some updates that my v1.2 doesn't. So I assume it doesn't need any "initialisation" tweek to get it to work fully.

Nut!

Rob - have you ever processed warranty claims the 330S Dunlop tyres because of cracking around the tread channels?

I had a Goodyear/Dunlop rep inspect my tyres yesterday.
Subaru sent him, because they have none in stock apparently.
He basically said that yes, they shouldn't do what they're doing, but they are still safe.
He then went on to say that because they tyres are half worn, he would replace half FOC if I bought two.

I spoke to my dealer, they said that bullsh!t and they will sort it with Subaru.

No not processed any claims for tyres as yet.

I'm down at subaru uk at the moment, and I can tell you thats bullshit, I walk past probably hundreds of tyres every morning on my way to the training workshop, the racks are full of dunlop's lol I even thought about backing the car up and throwing some in hahaha.

We'll - long story short was this.
Subaru told Goodyear to get in contact - they did and offered me a half measure
I went back to dealer - and they then submitted a tyre claim with Subaru.
Subaru then came back and rejected the claim as tyres are not covered under warranty.

So - I rang technical and gave off.

I said I bought this car brand new just over a year ago and it then had tyres which were nearly 3 years old!
You say one thing - Goodyear say another and I'm stuck in the middle

So anyway, dealer rang - 4 new tyres on the way Wink

Always good to hear a happy ending, so 4 new tyres for free?

I thought they were all supplied with Dunlops SP's from new?

Yeah - 4 new tyres to go with my 4 new under warranty alloys.

The car was supplied with Dunlops from new, but they are cracking up around the tread blocks and in the gooves.
Dunlop man said that its because of the age of those tyres.

Thought that was what you meant but you mentioned Goodyear in your previous post which confused me, does not take much!

330S Wheel corrosion

Post  tourmalet on Thu May 31, 2012 12:09 pm

I had all 4 wheels replaced under warranty on my 330S, badly pitted and corroded. Less than a year on, signs of corrosion on one wheel. 'Lusteric' alloys fininsh not very robust.
