Has anybody else got rattles coming from the bottom of the A pillars? Go over any slightly rough surface and they start.

Looked at the pillars and noticed they aren't attached to anything, I'm guessing becuase they have air bags underneath.

Its really starting to get on my tits now.

Buy a cheap car sponge and tear off two chuncks, take the trim off and jam in the two pieces, one towards the top and one at the bottom then replace the trim. Should be silent now as the foam keeps the trim tight against the mounting clips. Works every time for me, cheap fix and no weight.

Is it easy to remove the trim?
      What about the airbags etc?

I would check with your local dealer or friendly independant garege before removing anything that contains an airbag, sorry I forgot they had airbags in there.

I'm tempted to put some foam or such like between the bottom of the pillar and the dash. Thats where the rattles coming from on mine.

On our demo we had to strip down all plastic panels inc door cards, hatch surround and use double sided sponge tape where all plastics touch any metal to stop it rattling.

Guess its the quality thats signed off by Subaru, too many rattles for the price we've all paid me thinks.
But you cant have a great chassis, engine, looks and build quality surely??

      re the load luggage cover

remove it and put double sided foam on the ends of the bar and its socket/holder.

replace and it should dissapear....it worked for us!!

Wonder if Subaru sell sti foam for these rattles Laughing

Nah,this is at the front - below and to the right of the steering coloumn.

As regards the luggage cover I just leave it fully extended to stop the rattle.

      Had a victory last night!
what I thought was the luggage cover rattling turned out not to be, it turned out to be coming from the tailgate infact.
I took all the trim off and discovered the plastic guides for the wiring and washer tube were free to rattle their heads off as they are not secure in the holes made for them in the tailgate. Also the large trim moves in and out and rattles off the tailgate.
Easy fix, I put a small bead of silicone on all the clips and allowed it to dry a bit before I put the trim back on, when I did put the trim on I padded it out with 2 car sponges one either side, this takes up the slack on the trim clips and keeps it away from the tailgate enough to stop it rattling.
Cheap fix and I've been out today and it's completely rattle free. Brilliant!!

I've been told that the A pillar ratle is caused when the cars are updated to UK spec and the alarm sensors are put onto the trim. It seems that its a common problem as I had same issues with a previous model.
