Re: Few Little Bits
I like were youve put your scan gauge, I put mine up on the dash ontop of the air vent, I might go and move mine i think.
a good one to keep an eye on is the coolant temp IMHO. when my headgasket went the gauge on the dash never moved and the scan gauge was at 120 degc

Hi Rob,
I never know which to have on the scan gauge and some I don't know what they mean.

Re: Few Little Bits
IA depends on the ambient air temp out side, so say for instance the outside temp is 18 deg c the temp measured on the scan gauge is typically 4-5 degs more
the water temp well, when mines running on the road its at 85 degc and standing still can reach 94 then the thermostat opens and drops to 89 untill i start moving again.

I'm glad I've helped ha ha.
My temps seem to be really high unless I've got the wrong ones on. I'll be in the car soon. I'll post what is on screen.

46IA must have been sat idle for a while to get that high, as a rule if i've say gone through town and the IA temp has risen greatly i wont give it loads of boost until this temp has gone down a bit, stops it being more prone to the dreaded det lol me just being picky i think haha

Re: Few Little Bits
When I took that reading it was sat idling. So what figure would you take it easy at when driving about?

usually around 4-5 deg higher than the exterior temp gauge ontop of the dash where your clock is

Cheers Rob. I presume it can't display Subaru specific items like the advance multiplier... saying that not even sure the 08 ecus use this???

Re: Few Little Bits
That was quick!
Used a bit of wire to feed the cable from the OBD port through the small hole left open by subaru, good of them..
then velcro'd (for now) it into place.
I know why it's cheap now compared to my previous PSi3 monitor.. you can't hook up extra gauges such as oil pressure etc..
Also, Rob, the MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) doesn't read the same as a boost gauge.

Why did you get rid of the PSi3?

Re: Few Little Bits
lit up red it matches the rest..
I think the "MAP" reading is the manifold air pressure in psi from absolute...
ie
0 = -14.7 psi and
14.7 psi = 0 on a boost gauge
so 1 bar boost would read anout 30 psi on this gauge ??
I would still advise on a PSi3 though.
Heres one on scoobynet..
