Sport cat downpipe..... Empty Sport cat downpipe.....

Just to say, ordered a 3" downpipe with 100 cell high flow cat from H&S the other day, and a custom 3" to 2.5" 2nd cat decat pipe to mate with the std "PPP" rear pipe and 4 exit box.

The decat pipe can be sent back to H&S to become a full 3" if I later decide to go to an aftermarket exhaust system.

Want to keep it quiet but get the best gas flow.
It's reckoned that a 100 cell cat is only about 2 bhp lower than a full decat!

I'll see how it goes and probably get it mapped with the AEM CAIK I have ready.

    Sorry Rob, misled you.

I have the CAIK but not fitted it as I was told it changes the fueling zones and needs a remap. It will go on after the sports cat d/pipe and all get mapped in.

Looking for somewhere near your power levels! Wink

    Sport cat downpipe..... Empty Costs....

Post  vulnax Tue Apr 06, 2010 8:13 am

    Not too cheap!

Sports cat was £510 and 2nd de-cat pipe was £125. Plus £20 P&P. Erm, VAT too I think! Gulp!

With the CAIK, these exhaust pipes and remap I'd hope for 370-380, probably a bit behind those with full decat and aftermarket exhaust I guess. I'm keeping on the back pipe and PPP rear box for now!

Oh, the 3" decat downpipe would have been about £185 I think.

Sport cat downpipe..... Empty new sports 100 cell d/pipe arrived!

Post  vulnax Fri Apr 16, 2010 1:05 pm

H&S delivered by UPS the sports cat 3" downpipe and 3" to 2.5" 2nd cat decat pipe to match up with the 330S / PPP back half. Very sturdy bit of kit, welds ground down and almost gas flowed !!!

Now just need to get around to fitting the new bits and AEM CAIK and get it mapped for near 380 bhp etc.!
And with the suspension - springs, PU bushes, roll/bump kit, strut brace and under car subframe and chassis braces etc. - should be quite nice.

Not sure when this lot will all go on...

    Guys
Apart from a price thing - why did Prodrive not have a sports cat as part of the hatch PPP?

Is the 2.5 downpipe less restrictive or something?
Or is it simply they able to achieve the additional power/torque using standard?

    For info
Litchfield have now a new Miltek system with improved flow cat sited near rear diff. Also improved flow back box.

I wonder if the diff based cat would work well, as they need to be hot to work and the back of the car the exhaust gas is cooler than the front, obviously?
