window tints

got stopped to day by north yorkshire police over window tints said they where to dark only letting 30% light in not 70% , must have had a quiet day as 2 of them sitting doing nowt when i came throught carrick ,got £30fixed fine & told to sort it out

thing is when i got home i noticed that they had but wrong colour down for car they had black not dark grey could this be loop hole to get away with ticket

Are they factory fit or after market?

dont no bud they where on car when i got it will hve to make another phone call & ask question

Is yours a 330S or euro sti ? As I think these are the only one's which had factory fitted tints

I assume it's the front windows you got the fixed penalty for?

The rears can be dark as you like (IIRC) but you can't touch the fronts.

The 330S came with only the rears tinted so your's must be aftermarket?

like i said there where on car when i got it , as i said they must have had quiet car day as 2 traffic cars sitting around talking not fussed about getting stopped but like i said they got details wrong on pentaly ticket

then cheeky sod said you must be good paying job to be able to afford a car like that when i told him i was hgv driver like its got owt to do with him how i spend my money

dont get me wrong i no they have to do job ( as my sister & her partner r both in police & 1 of them in traffic )& its sh*t job for money they get

Got stopped for my tints last month, and they made me pull them off at the roadside or have the car taken from me

well got front tints off but put dark sunstrip on along top off windscreen will but pic up soon doesnt look to bad but not as good as it did

ive been talking to a couple of people in tinting trade & they say front window tints are going to be checked as part of mot & if less than 70% light getting in its a mot fail & at moment it just fixed £30 fine but will be going up to £60 + 3points per window just to warn you they are ment to be cracking down
