Rev 2 owners...

As the gauge mounting options in the hatch are very limited i'm thinking of going down the Rev 2 route with either my iphone of ipod touch. I know i need the PLX wifi gadget (if i go down this route i'd get the iMFD one which can accept all the PLX sensor modules to get oil temp/pressure etc) but i want to know what it can see via the OBDII. In terms of this does it have any subaru specific parameters to log (such as advance multiplier that be seem with romraider/deltadash etc) and also the subaru specific error codes?

Any experience/comments you have would be appreciated.

Yes and no.


There are loads of paramers under 3 or 4 headings with Rev 2.

I don't think it does ecu multiplier but does others like inj duty.

Suggest you go to the PLX web site / Rev 2 web sites and d/load the manual or at least the parameters are listed on the screen.

How are you planning on viewing the output - just on the Ipod touch / Iphone?
Doesn't work on the nav unit as Ipod won't output the screen unless it's jailbreaked ( jailbroken? ).

Was planning on just displaying on the ipod/iphone screen. I've got the manuals etc but as always they just say parameters can vary for car to car... which is no good There are a lot of parameters that can be seen using the SSM that normal OBDII readers just don't display, it it only displays OBD stuff and not subaru specific it's just an expensive waste IMHO. They should implement SSM... could be like having deltadash on your ipod.

I'll see what mine says, does do most of the items on the list tho ...

I have the plx device & Rev 2 although not used it for over a year, was using it a lot during the engine problems, recording various data all from the ODB port which saves as spreadsheets

I jailbroke the iphone and connect the VGA apple leads to the stereo so that it was on the dash but the phone auto updated and went back to normal iphone, couldnt be arsed to jailbreak again

any-hoo pics of the stuff when it was functioning.







If anyone interested in going this route then I have the leads for sale £15 (cost me £35 from apple shop)

I have Rev 2 / PLX on the hatch .. well now and again in the hatch as I haven't wired ( been able to wire it ) it into the head unit ...

If I got an Ipad, would I be able to transfer my purchase of Rev2 to it or would I need to buy it again ?
It's only around £20 so not a problem but nicer to transfer it!
