feeling on top of the world today, 1st time for 2 weeks, rains stopped so i managed to get out and have a fiddle:

i had to hammer the bottom either side of the curved section level to the start of the SM logo so that the bracket would sit flush against the bulkhead underneath the bonnet latch

I know its not the greatest pic but

Here's the HST's fitted in place

and with a grille i have wrapped in 3M carbon fibre vinyl

Any tips doing this properly (you see two bad points!)?

I started with the front but that messes up big time at the sharp edges!

    Tip 1, take it apart.
Tip 2, start on the largest flat area.
Tip 3, to form it round bends etc, use a hair dryer to heat it up.

as some of you know, my car isnt well and just had a call from the service dept asking if the exhaust is a subaru part.

I said no it isnt but it shouldnt affect the warranty as its a cat back system.

the latest is that a compression test is showing 2 & 3 are low

Hope it gets sorted and warranty is all fine. Are they doing a leak test too to confirm the problem?

My main dealer told me any non approved part attached to any assembly would void the warranty on that part as it may be the non approved part that caused the problem, e.g. d/pipe or air filter kit would void the engine warranty, a/r bar would void the suspension warranty ...

Mine is in for warranty work tonight, wheel bearings shot after 4500 miles!
Service manager also said the car had a recall on it for possible piston damage due to map problems.... although he was sure the 330S was already fixed as it had the PPP map when it was changed to becone a 330S ....

    We'll see tomorrow!

Got car back, oil/filter change ( £98 !! ) and had both front wheel bearings replaced under warranty.
They did one, still the noise although less, so did both.
Does seem quieter, can now leave radio on volume 20 setting all the time not crank up to 30 when doing 60 mph!

Seemed they checked the ECU under the service recall but as expected the PPP ECU already covered the earlier problem...

I was told the same when i had 1000 miles service a couple of weeks ago, dropped the car or to be told that it was subject to a ECU recall but when i collected they said the 330S was unaffected by the recall
