i would think if uve got dash lights turned down for night time level will it will b the same so try turning it up & c what happens

Dash brightness dial on right of steering wheel has several brightnesses, and a KEEP IT ON FULL brightness mode too, great for sunny days!
Other wise , as you say, you can't see the sat nav in sunshine!
