Howl on cold for 40 seconds?

On the Sti 330S, for the last couple of weeks the engine has HOWLED for 30 -40 seconds when started after a couple of hours starting ... probably when it's cold. ( I have a heater in the garage, usually 4-5 degrees C ! ).

Seems to be from the black plastic circular thingy ( auxillary air pump or something like that ? ) near the oil filler.

Goes off after a 30 - 40 seconds with a HISSSss ..


Any ideas ( Rob ? ) anyone?
Is it knackered, does it need oil or cleaning or anything?


Or is it just annoying?

Car is on 23000 miles, 2 1/4 years old.

secondary air pump is on it's way out mate. get it changed under warranty or have it mapped out

Thats a very long wait. I think i would be stamping my feet by now.
