I found some genuine iPod adapters for the Impreza/Forester 08+. Do they work on my standard non Navi Stock headunit?

No. The internal wiring isn't there to activate it on the head unit.
Your outta luck, been here, imported 1 tried it. Need to write a shitty letter to IM asking why they don't supply 1.

I can vouch for that, it's now in a drawer in my shed, available if anyone wants one.

And do they not work on the 330S navi head unit either then?
I thought I read on scoobynet that some folk had their ipod connected?
What about connecting via bluetooth - is that an option?

No I'm afraid not, I have a 330S too and the only way I can connect my iPod is through the red and white AV connectors in the centre console. Anyone with a better method please let me know!

There were 2 of us trying it with both types of head unit. We both failed.

Rip the factory head unit out, use as paper weight / throw in bin. Get a decent aftermarket unit!

The factory head unit on the 330S isn't bad.
OK - in my last car I had a DDX5022 fitted
But, that just looked aftermarket
Black thing surrounded by silver, the 330S navi unit at least blends in and has Blue tooth.

Guys - what about USB capability?
See this
http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f77/media-hub-help-67039/
The part numbers must be universal.
For example the bluetooth mic is the same number on the US, EU & UK accessories brochure
The part number this refers to is H621SFG700 and is on the US & EU brochure, but not on the UK brochure?
And the 330S is an EU car - so surely that means yes its available?

Rob - you're a knowledgeable guy with the hatch
Can you shed any light on my findings with regards to swapping the jacks with a combined jacks & usb port?
Thanks,
Shaun

I have fitted the Ipod dock to the new legacy & it works very well indeed, I would assume the usb jack/aux socket will come with all the cabling required and should just plug straight into the rear of your nav unit & will be picked up by the headunit without any issues.
I could ask my mate in the states if he'll pop down to his dealer and have a look at a kit like he did last time for me and I could tell you better from there.

Gentleman Rob - thank you.
Don't suppose your mate would be able to supply said bit?

Cheers Rob
I can't really see any reason why it shouldn't work - can you?
Especially as those instructions talk about removal of the jacks socket and replacing with the combined USB/jack
I guess I'll just wait and see what your mate says about the part

I'd emailed my dealer about this.
The parts guy rang me just now.
Basically this multi media hub is only available for the legacy according to Subaru.
