My old classics paint was hard as nails!!! I bounced a bow of it and not even a mark, this 1, even a brable sends me running for the DA and S203!!

Mines not been too bad on this one, I guess it being silver helps as I cannot see most of the chips!!!

Now my WR Blue Hawk was a different story, fly's used to chip that paint!!!

The rally blue seems to mark really badly, especially the front wings & bonnet leading edge.
I did apply some clear helicopter tape to the rear arches / sill which seems to have protected it ok.

The dark grey's not to clever No Stone chips stand out a mile with the light grey (nearly white) primer

You'll have to post up the costs when you have it done.

A couple of very small chips on mine around the bonnet and front bumper areas. I bought some Dr Colourchip touch up from the states, it works well and the finish is much better than just a dab of paint from a standard touch up stick.

Surprised And I thought scoobynet was great for draining my wallet.

Thanks guys for the great advice - got a few bonnet chips to tackle so I'll try these options

Spoken to Paint Shield to day, to have the car completely covered is about £3000. But they can do as much or as little as you require.
Also said they would set up a group buy if enough are interested

Cheers for the heads up, have ordered some from the USA Arrow

And yes the paint on the STI is rubbish, stone chipped to hell in 2 years, I need a respray on the bonnet in places where rust has started to appear and Subaru UK (the IM Group) said it's not covered by the warranty!

I've spent the best part of 2 hours filling in 99% of the stone chips this morning. Now leaving it for a week and hopeing for fine weather next weekend so I can finish the job and detail the damn thing.

A good day has just turned bad...

I started repairing the stone chips on the bonnet of the car and in 6 strokes and next to no pressure with 2000 grit managed to get strike through. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Bloody new cars and black paint. Mad Mad
