Maps and insurance

Ok, looking at getting the STI remapped and thought I ask the question on Insurance.

Called Aplan today and said between now end of policy in September it would probably be an extra £40 and at renewal should be less as most of the cost now is because its a mid year change, does that all sound about right in your opinion?

Also while on the topic of insurance, how detailed does everyone get ref telling of their mods, splitters, flaps, tints etc of just things like Exhausts and springs.

Also if the car had lowering springs fitted before you boughjt it (2nd hand) how whould they know that you did not put them on and thought it was standard?

i list all mods applied with cost of them

I'm with Liverpool Victoria, who were great for my heavily modded classic for mods.
Then, they just wanted a vague idea of what was changed ( and then calssed them as engine mds, suspension mods etc. ) and to keep a photo & receipt for them. Reasonable charge too.

The photo and receipt purely to proove you actually had the bits and were not ripping them off!

Not done anything on this car yet, but back with LV so may call and ask - they DO seem to have phase where they won't allow mods unless already declared them.
