Which Induction kit

Hiya guys, I have an 08 Hatch STI. I have been told that the panel filter is pretty restrictive on these and have been recomended to look at getting an induction kit. just wondering what induction kits people are using and what you would recomend.

AEM wingtype mate but you'll really need to remap the vehicle to suit

Does it have an air inlet to it, like my old blob eye was from the fog light cover. I am looking at getting it mapped thats one of the reasons i was wondering what induction kits as the mapper said the standard ones are pretty restrictive.

no it doesnt mate, as its sealed into the front of the wheel arch it draws all the cool air from there on the move

A replacement panel filter like Cosworth will be sufficient if your not going for big power, mine was easily mapped to 340/350ish with a cosworth filter and some exhaust mods.

i have a K&N panel filter, used but only for a few hundred miles but have an unused K&N cleaning kit

I am actually using a Pro-R panel filter and i dont think it has made any difference of any kind what so ever. Admitedly i am supposed to take it to Silverstone Rolling Road to see if it has made any difference from the sandard filter just havent had time. If i am going to change it i am going to get a new induction kit especially as people have said it makes more difference on the hatches than it did on the new age imprezas, and it made a difference on my old blob eye, on that i had a K&N Typhoon down inside of the wing.

In real world driving you'd prob not notice any difference at all, also to get the gains of any such mod the car will be need to be mapped to see its full potential.

Well my intention is to get an exhaust at the same time then take it to get remapped. If i am going to change anything on the induction side i might aswell go the full hog and change the kit instead of just a replacement filter.
