Which sports cat downpipe...

Any one put on a free flowing / sports cat downpipe?
To a PPP STi or 330S hatch?

If so, what make and price please!

Was it much louder with the exhausts as above?
I expect it will need a remap after changing the d/pipe... but seems the d/pipe & cat is the restricting factor in getting power over 340 - 350 bhp... even with the PPP or 330S exhaust system.

I'm looking for better exhaust flow for when I remap, not too fussed with making it loud! And if I change exhaust to say magnaflow that would be too loud perhaps?

Interestingly, while looking into sports cats..... had this reply :


"Just got to mention about the high flow cats is that there is a new
law coming in to effect although no one knows how it will policed but
all cats have to be type approved and that means standard spec cats.
The high flow cats still pass the mot emmisions test so you have no
problem there but it seems no one is taking any notice and no one seems
to know about it either , but just have to inform you. "


I haden't heard of this but if emissions are still a sexy vote winner then this may be a move to clamp down on the "boy racers and Chavs" who mod their cars and are a nuisance, while headlining emission controls??

I believe Germany has similar checks ( TUV approval ) for after market car parts.

found where this post should have gone!
Just to say, ordered a 3" downpipe with 100 cell high flow cat from H&S the other day, and a custom 3" to 2.5" 2nd cat decat pipe to mate with the std "PPP" rear pipe and 4 exit box.

The decat pipe can be sent back to H&S to become a full 3" if I later decide to go to an aftermarket exhaust system.

Want to keep it quiet but get the best gas flow.
It's reckoned that a 100 cell cat is only about 2 bhp lower than a full decat!

I'll see how it goes and probably get it mapped with the AEM CAIK I have ready.
