I've replaced the side lights.. with 5050 SMD (LED) Bulbs.

One of my LED lights from salsa has failed

How long are LED lights supposed to last guys?

One of mine has gone, so that's about 6 months.

I've had a good 3 years from normal LED's in the sidelights, one in the hawk went after about 12 months, these wre the quad ones from
eBay.

Mine still working, I use the side light all the time like having daytime running lights on.

have you removed it nd tried putting it back in again, as I had one before that when off and it was the connection had worked loose. Afte replacing its been fine ever since.

i finnaly got round to fitting mine today, only had them maybe 9months to a year, well annoyed ive no fitted them sooner, massive improvement

My dodgy bulb is a loose connection for sure.

When you fitted yours did you remove the wheel arch liner then?

Is there no way to get at these from the top then?

I took the easy option and removed the three screw clips that attaches the liner to the bumper and bent the liner (its soft plastic which is flexible enough to give enough room to put your hand in .

I left lights on so could see where to reposition bulb when refitting.

Then start the car to turn the wheel to do the otherside, no access at all from top.

Use myn as daylights. Love em

So its really easy then?

hardest bits getting the damn plastic screws out to release the wheel arch liner. i got some spare ones from subaru so didnt have to worry about breaking them. but yeah 5mins a light once uve mastered how to remove the plastic screws.

just make sure once uve replaced the bulb, u turn on ur lights, so you can check you've got it in the right way round, incase u didnt take note of which way round the contactors need to go.

I put the silver indicator bulbs in at same time!

Another cheap and easy mod!

SK - any ideas where one could order the equivalent of what you have - i.e the 13 5050?

My passenger bulb is kaput

have you seen them on eBay?

Got a set from aztec in the end - not fitted them yet though

I've had some more delivered form China.. as one of mine seemed to go out.. I removed it and tried it again and it works fine. I think it worked it's way loose. lol

Refitted the 'bad' bulb once and it worked for a while
Went out again, tried to refit, but still didn't work.
