Stan, what wheels you got on at the moment that are 8x18 ET55?

I thought they were Speedline Turini 18x8 ET55, but just been told that if they are ET55 they are definitely 18x8.5 !!

They look set back quite a bit, but there is not that much space between tyre and arch at the front.

Nice wheel the Turini but I see what you mean about being set back a bit.

Just as a comparitor, the stock 17" STi wheel is 8" ET53 so your Speedlines are actually 2mm further in than those. I get why your keen to change!

Out of interest, what new wheels are you looking at?

2nd hand 18 x8.5 ET55 (ish) that fit over calipers, in good condition, possibly with tyres, with not too many spokes (for easy cleaning)that I like the look of ! Laughing
Not too much to ask !

    Info re: Turismos

Originally they were18x8 ET55, but recently, in order to clear the big brake kits on the Hatch, they are now 18x8.5 ET52, which are still available in silver. The 18x8 ET55 are now only available in Anthracite.

    Markings on spokes 1664BY07 = 18x8, ...BY10 = 18x8.5, so as my rims were bought in Feb09 they ARE probably 18 x 8 !!!

Thanks to Nick at Demon Tweeks for finding that out !

Just had a wheel off. 07, so it is 18x8 !

I would never have guessed they were 265's. They look an excellent fit on the 8.5's! Very Happy Cool

Just fitted my 235 40 R888's onto my 8" and I can't really notice the difference in look (tread width, fitting to rim) to the 245 40 MichelinPS2 I just removed.
Another specsaver visit needed ?? Rolling Eyes

Still looking for some nice 18 x 8.5 ET55 (ish) if anyone knows any 2nd hand. Smile

A bit tight to fit but looks better than the 245, which offer nothing in rim protection and look undersized in my opinion.

The actual width of the tyre changes between sizes and companies, look at the Toyo site and checkout their widths against actual size, the T1-R 265/35ZR18 is 267mm but the 275/35ZR18 is only 271mm.

    Hi Arron,
What rims are those & what ET ?

Nice lip of rubber on those to buffer the rim a bit.

    Hi Stan

They are Turini's, seeing them on yours I had to have them!!!

I managed to source some in an ET of 35, really do help to fill out the arches!

Another side on shot with the old Dunlops, the lip on the Vreds does help to give a little more confidence near kerbs!

My OEM Dunlops are down to the wear indicator now so on the look out for tyres.... think i'm going to try Michelin PS3s, £355 fitted for a pair at Costco seems good value if anybody else is thinking of trying them (245/40R18s)

    Hi Stan,

Dust where Laughing Just a quick wash on sunday morning, rained loads since! Shine down to Jeffs Werkstat Acrylic Prime and Jett Trigger.

I think these stick out a bit less than the OEM Dunlop 600's? Certainly no more.
I do have some flaps but not sure if / how to fit them!

There's a bit of -ve camber there I think Exclamation

These tyres have a nice big rim protector which is useful as I have <cough> scuffed the odd one... potholes I think rather than kerbs.

So far after 100 miles or so in towns and dual carriage way, the tyres feel nice and light, turn well, work in rain too, and are damn quiet after the Dunlops!

Had a slight vibration on the steering, so they have been balanced twice so far, it's not gone yet.. comes in about 65 mph to ... so hope to dial that out.
Suspension is all PU at front and prodrive springs, so unlilely rubber bushed worn or loose, although will have a look in case something loose.

    Cheers
