    Still no car Sad

The parts were in stock and turned up but the camshaft and one other part had to be returned as they were corroded!

The garage seem to be taking an age...it's been with them since 16th December.

I await an apology from Subaru though I don't think it will happen as no one seems to care or take responsibility.

Put your story on here. Mr Tunnicliffe states that he monitors forums so this may move matters forward. In saying that whatever has gone wrong obviously won't be Subaru's fault Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Shocking, when my engine first failed it was turned around in a week with a new short motor that was with them within days. Even with the second a short motor was there in days, took a little longer as I wanted some things changing but still didn't take as long as this.

Firstly sorry to hear of your troubles. However, I thought that the Prodrive map on the 330s was supposed to sort this issue out and that the only way they would go wrong was if you didn't use 98 RON or above fuel?

This is a bit of a worry.

This is a bit of a worry.

Mine lasted 6 months with standard map and pistons and 18 months with a Prodrive map and standard pistons, used V-power since new.

    Mick - Thanks.

Derek - Shell V-Power every fill up - I've never been caught out yet, plus shell is the cheapest 98RON where I live. Doing very nicely out of the BA airmiles you get from the VPower club points!

Rob - I'll see what Monday brings.

    Max

PS. I have submitted my 'experience' via IM Groups website. I wonder if they will bother to reply?

Finally got it back last night!

I spoke to the mechanic and he says the Crank failed..not one of the pistons. I have been told to limit the revs to 3k and to return after 1,000 miles for an oil change. I also had a bill for the remainder of the service which I asked them to do seeings as it would have been due in 800 miles anyway. Sparkplugs were never this expensive on my M5 and it had eight of them.

Oh, and no apology or any contact from IM group!

1,000 boring miles ahead of me Sad

Gutted but like you say, still in warranty so count yourself lucky, maybe drop some forged pistons in during the rebuild?

P0024 avcs failure to move due to low oil pressure. Topped oil level up & reset ecu suspected ringland fracture causing heavy oil consumption.

    Forged pistons are in hand

Claim should be fine, just the usual forms to fill in to send to Subaru first with the CID & cvn numbers and some readings from the ecu.

Never fear your in safe hands mate.

My car is out of warranty in june, the dealer i bought the car from gave me a years warranty from june.
What do i need to check for in the AXA warranty to make sure that i'm covered if i have to claim
    out of subaru warranty.

    Thanks

Just read the small print very carefully on the axa warrantys, they do not tollerate altering the vehicle in anyway from standard whilst under the cover from them. They try and get out of it whenever possible

Hi Rob, the cars standard and will be staying standard.
The question was really to find out what components are damaged with the engine failures, to make sure they are listed as covered

to be honest an Engine isnt classed as a wearing part, as long as theres oil and coolant in there and the service history is up to date then dont worry mate you have nothing to fear

44k and it went, im at 42k and thought it was ok to breathe easier now as surely woulda went by now :s

ive got an extended warranty from wen i bought the car until july/august, no idea where the forms are tho. i know where my RAC card is though rob Wink

question though, if the car was bought from a subaru dealer 2nd hand with a cat back that should still be covered as normal yes?
